Hey there friend,
It’s nice to see you here.
My name is Cheri Watchmaker and I am a lifelong lover of all animals and nature.
Growing up in New England, I was given the opportunity to ride horses, care for sheep and have many furry friends.
As a teenager, I was an active member in a local 4-H community where I found my passion for communication and public speaking. Little did I know I would turn this passion into a 20 year career as a Professor of Communication Studies.
Through my work with young adults, I found empathy and active listening skills to be a pathway to connection. This was the beginning of my journey towards mindfulness. However that chapter of my life took a very hard turn after a diagnosis of breast cancer.
The overwhelming fear, stress, and anxiety that permeated my being stopped me from doing anything but remaining stuck in those emotions. I was faced with a choice, continue this negative spiral or change my life, and fast!
So I turned to mindfulness meditation.
Meditation has opened up my heart and given me a space to work with my emotions. It has strengthened my relationships, not only with others, but most importantly with myself. Today, I guide people through mindfulness meditation practices both individually and in small groups. I find this really has become my life’s work and love sharing this connection with those who find their way to me.
If you find yourself questioning your happiness, feeling overwhelmed with stress and anxiety, or are just looking for more meaning in your world, I would love to chat!
I faced cancer with courage and inner strength, until I didn’t.
